Finding clarity in 90 minutes

At the start of the workshop they named the blockers, at the follow-up, they were already turning them into clarity, self-belief, courage.

What really happens in a workshop?

One business owner’s story of finding clarity in 90 minutes.

It’s one of the most honest things a business owner can say: “I haven’t been able to get into the homework.”

That’s how one recent attendee arrived at the Build Your Vision workshop. Not through lack of want – through lack of space. Running a thriving business, with a busy family life, and somewhere along the way, the two started pulling in opposite directions. Something had to give. And as they told me, the thing that always gives is usually me.

I hear it again and again. That quiet refrain: you’re expected to work like you don’t have a family, and parent like you don’t run a business. It’s impossible. And yet we keep trying to do it all, feeling that we’re failing at all of it.

So here’s what happened when they joined the workshop.

The 90 minutes they’d been waiting for

They told me at the start of the session that they hadn’t managed to complete the homework. Life had simply swallowed it up.

But here’s the thing. During the workshop, they did do it. Because the workshop hands you something life so rarely does: 90 uninterrupted minutes where the only thing on the agenda is you.

Not your inbox. Not the school run. Not the clients waiting on you. You.

And with that space came something unexpected – a willingness to open up.

What the group gave her that a seminar never could

One of the most common questions I get is, “What’s it actually like at the workshop?”

The honest answer: it’s less about me and far more about the people joining you.

In their words, it was invigorating and refreshing. They found themselves among other business owners at different stages and heading in different directions – and yet, they said, the problems were so similar. Different journeys, same threads.

There’s a particular magic in being heard by people who genuinely understand. Not someone who’s ‘fixing’ you. Not a room full of nodding strangers. Just other owners who get it, who listen generously, and who offer a fresh perspective you’d never have found alone.

By the end, they’d named what they needed – not as vague feelings, but as clear, articulated goals. Clarity, self-belief, courage, and a healthier balance. Words they’d carried unspoken for a long time.

Why the workshop doesn’t end when it ends

Meaningful change doesn’t happen overnight – that’s why the workshop is the start, not the finish. What makes Build Your Vision different is what follows:

  • Post-workshop homework that breaks big goals into manageable next steps.
  • 1:1 follow-ups over six months – at 1 week, 4 weeks and 6 months – to keep you accountable, refresh your motivation, and celebrate how far you’ve come.

Because the truth is, the vision you build in the room is only valuable if it survives contact with real life. And with the right support around you, it does.

Your vision deserves space to grow

If you’re nodding along – if something in this story feels familiar – that’s not an accident. It’s a sign that you’ve been putting yourself last for too long.

You don’t need another to-do list. You need space. You need to be heard. And you need a clear, honest vision that actually fits your life.

The next Build Your Vision workshop is open for booking. Come and see what happens when you finally get 90 minutes for yourself.

A Note from Clare:

Sometimes we can’t quiet the noise.  But we can focus on the right, ‘what next’.   Focus & Growth Coaching was set up to support those shifts that need to be shared. Ensuring our audience, customer, client… is aware of who we are, what we wish to offer, and how to be part of that wonderful journey.

Giving you the opportunity to work with me when one part of your business needs dedicated time to develop and flourish.

Why I love coaching

Because so many talented, purpose-led business owners are:

  • overthinking and burning out
  • have a thousand ideas but not able to choose ‘what next’
  • can’t connect the vision, mission, and income when they want to offer support for free
  • offering solutions that are vital that change behaviours, not just of individuals, but corporations

This is exactly why coaching exists.
And this is what the first step can feel like when you’re held with care.

If this has inspired you and I’m the coach you’ve been looking for.
