Stage One Interiors approached CMR needing help to grow the business. We reviewed the business model and quickly identified gaps in profitability.
Liz, the Founder and Designer, was overloaded. Working on successful project design and bids didn’t allow time to review effective cost structures and revenue streams.
This great little business had moved from staging for home sales and show homes into full furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E). Supplying for multi-million pound commercial design projects.
So, we needed to act fast to bring in systems that showed clear profit margins. Refresh fair and consistent client pricing along with tracking 100’s of items into new build ventures.
CMR worked with Liz to review and audit current processes. We then improved control of costs, profit and loss and FF&E management. And finally, we overhauled data systems for remote working systems and secure data storage, to improve productivity, profitability and team working.
We managed this without interrupting the day to day running of the business. Because we used existing systems and improved they way they were used. And where new systems were brought in we made sure they balanced the current applications.
So, finally, we wanted to track project buying and delivery, alongside sourcing new supplier relationships and ensuring great products with competitive pricing. And we managed all this using the existing Xero accounting software.
Profitability increased. New supplier relationships flourished. Time tracking and streamlining improved the internal and external processes. Using cloud based, secure, systems gave visibility to the whole team.
